ChangePath.ai, Founding Engineer

AI-powered career-transition platform for people looking for clarity about their next step

One of ChangePath's founders is a friend I met during my stint at Antler . A year and a half later we caught up over coffee, and she told me about her new project: helping people, particularly GenZs, create clarity in their lives, starting with their careers. What impressed me was that she and her co-founder had not waited for software. They had already validated the business case with target users - some of whom paid - using nothing but Notion prototypes. I was already working on another idea after heyPermit, so I offered the time I had as a part-time CTO. I worked with the founders on technical vision, software architecture, initial domain design, and hiring - interns and frontend engineers, who then had to be onboarded onto a way of working I was still figuring out myself. The very first implementation, meant to wow investors, was a React and Vite SPA with n8n agentic pipelines as the backend. It was the first time I "vibe-coded" a web app in my professional life (using  Bolt ). After that we transitioned to Next.js PWA and Convex , with real-time data and multi-locale support. ( That choice deserves its own post, which I will write.) We soon put together a shared context for agentic coding, and kept evolving it, so that everyone worked from the same conventions, prompts, and guardrails instead of each of us improvising. It was eye-opening in a way I had not expected: I was clearly stepping into a world where I would write less code and still put more demoable features in front of users. "Cautious awe" is the closest I can get to describing it. From there this development workflow became normal, in the best sense. We shipped the PWA and an admin dashboard on Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Convex, with real-time data and multi-locale support. The AI features followed: CV parsing and ESCO skills matching on OpenAI and Mistral. Marketing, referral, and analytics pipelines ran through Posthog, Growsurf, and Brevo. Payments on Stripe. Delivery on CI, database migrations, feature flags, and E2E tests using Playwright.
